Inspirational Talk Series

The Inspirational Talks Series is a unique event format designed to bring together thought leaders, advocates, and professionals to discuss critical issues related to accessibility and inclusion in the workplace. Taking place on 28th September 2024 at the National Library of Romania in Bucharest, this event will feature four impactful talks:

  • From Challenge to Change: How Technology Elevates Disability Inclusion
  • EU Accessible Act 2025
  • Neurodiversity is Part of All Our Lives
  • Smart Cities: Enhancing Urban Design and Mobility for All

The Inspirational Talks are accessible for free. Pre-registration is required to attend, with a deadline set 24 hours prior to the event.

Registration before the event is required and only registered participants will be guaranteed a place. Further information will be sent out closer to the date.

– Overview: Examination of the latest technological advancements that support job accessibility for persons with disabilities.

– Speakers: Mihai Tomescu, expert in inclusive technology and innovation. Moderated by Andreea Vasile

– Demonstrations: Live demonstrations of assistive technologies and tools.

– Q&A Session: Attendees can interact with the speaker and explore how these technologies can be implemented in their organizations.

– Networking: Opportunities to connect with other attendees.

11.00 – 12.00: Talk 2: EU Accessible Act 2025

– Overview: Detailed presentation on the EU Accessible Act 2025, including its goals, requirements, and impact on businesses.

– Speaker: Adina Teleuca expert in accessibility legislation. Moderated by Andreea Vasile. 

– Q&A Session: Interactive session where attendees can ask questions and engage with the speaker.

– Networking: Opportunities to connect with other attendees.

12.00 – 13.00: Talk 3: Neurodiversity is Part of All Our Lives

– Overview: As we delve into the benefits and challenges of neurodiversity in the workplace during the discussion, understanding the financial underpinnings becomes crucial. This session will explore strategic budgeting and resource allocation that supports sustainable neurodiversity initiatives.

– Speakers: Nicoleta Orlea & Anca Dumitrescu leading advocates for neurodiversity in employment. Clara Volintiru Director of the Black Sea Trust of the German Marshall Fund (GMF) / Professor Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE). Moderated by Andreea Vasile. 

-Strategic Budgeting: Led by Clara Volintiru, explore how to effectively allocate resources, ensuring that investments in neurodiversity are impactful and sustainable. This discussion will cover prioritization of expenses related to accommodations, training, and support services.

-Economic Efficiency: Utilize real-world examples from our speakers, Nicoleta Orlea and Anca Dumitrescu of Autism Voice, to examine cost-effective strategies and the potential return on investment from well-implemented neurodiversity programs.

-Financial Resources: Identify potential funding sources, such as grants and governmental support, that can facilitate the implementation of these initiatives, with insights from Clara Volintiru on navigating these options.

– Q&A Session: Opportunity for attendees to discuss and seek advice on neurodiversity practices.

– Networking: Opportunities to connect with other attendees.
